Looking to change up your communication with your students? I’ve got you covered: your Bitmoji and sincere comments on a brightly colored Post It. It takes a few minutes of prep, but the students know it comes from the heart and they appreciate the effort.
So, for those who like to read and follow steps, read on. More of a visual learner? Click here for an 8-minute video that will walk you through the steps.
Printing on Post Its
- Create a template in Google Slides. Format the page to 8.5 x 11 inches to make it the size of a paper.
- Using the Shapes tool, create a square. With the square selected, click on the format tab to size it to 3 inches by 3 inches.
- Change the shading of the square to transparent and copy and paste until you have six on the page.
- Place a small “t” somewhere near the top of the page so you know where the top of the page is when you print it.
- Go to file and download it as a PDF. Print the PDF
- Place Post Its on the page so it feeds through the printer sticky side first.
Putting Bitmojis on the Post Its
- Set up your Bitmoji account using the free app.
- Using Chrome, go to the Chrome Web Store and add the Bitmoji extension. It will put the Bitmoji icon just to the right of the address bar.
- Open your Google Slides tab.
- Click on the Bitmoji extension icon, select the image you want, and drag it onto one of the 3-inch boxes.
- Download again as PDF and print them on the paper you’ve already covered with Post Its.
How to Use Bitmoji Post Its
Obviously you do whatever you want, but here are a few ideas to get you started if you’re drawing a blank.
- Special shout-outs to be put on a student’s desk or paper.
- Heartfelt thank yous.
- Something silly to make a coworker or student smile.
- Pleads to other teachers for various favors (student feedback, volunteers for extracurriculars, class coverage, and more).
- Reminders to students or staff.
Now go forth and share the Bitmoji love.

You need the sticky end to enter the printer first. If the flap enters first it may lift and jam the printer.
I just discovered your blog. I love this idea and plan to implement it when we are back in the classroom.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog! I hope we get back to the classroom soon; I loved doing little things like Bitmoji Post Its when we were meeting face to face. Take care, Amanda
