2022-2023 Digital Student Planner

It’s back by popular demand! Get this year’s FREE updated version of the digital student planner: August 2022 through June 2023. I’m leaving the link a bit ugly-looking here because I want you to be able to easily copy and paste it wherever you need to:

Students want to be successful. They start each year determined to make it the year that everything changes. Then a few weeks pass and they become overwhelmed. They haven’t kept up with long-term projects, they’re forgetting to hand in assignments, and it all seems hopeless again. This is what happens without strong executive functioning skills.

Have you heard about executive functioning skills? It’s pretty involved, but ultimately it’s all about how well we are able to focus, use our working memory, stay focused, manage our time, and more. Sounds like something students struggle with, right? I know I struggle with it, too!

I created this online spreadsheet to help my students organize their assignments and projects throughout the year. This year I’m making it a part of our classroom daily schedule: Take 5 minutes to update your online calendars for all your classes.

Making it a habit to update an organizer helps students learn organization skills. Once it’s a habit it’s easier to remember and maintain. Habits usually take a few weeks to form, so I’m hoping 180 days will be more than enough to reinforce this new habit.

Bonus: I have a study hall class, so I have students share their calendars with me. This way I can help students with long-term assignments long before the day it’s due. Or, have students share it with their parents or guardians as a way to help keep parents in the loop on what’s happening at school.

I’ll be posting more about executive functioning skills throughout the year. Be sure to check back for more ideas and resources. For now, click here to get your copy of the online student planner.
